North Cascades Community Orchestra (NCCO) has been performing in Bellingham for about 20 years and is comprised of about 50 musicians, 18 and over, from many backgrounds and skill levels. There are no auditions, only a shared love of music, willingness to work hard, and enthusiasm for bringing the classical music tradition to our wider community. Rehearsals are Thursday Evenings from 7 to 9 pm at Bellingham High School.

Our MUSIC DIRECTORNick Strobel is a native of Ferndale, WA, graduating from Ferndale High School in 1993. He earned a B.M. in cello performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music (1997) and a Masters in Music Education from Western Washington University in 1999. He has been teaching in the Bellingham School District since 2001 and currently directs the orchestras at Bellingham High School and teaches 5th grade strings at four elementary schools. Nick is the former principal cellist of the Bellingham Symphony and is in his third year as Director of the North Cascades Community Orchestra. He is incredibly proud of the dedication the musicians of the NCCO show each and every week.
